Far too often, people do not get the proper care they need in the profit-centered healthcare system. After finally becoming fed up with being told to overcharge patient’s insurance providers, Alex said enough was enough. TORQ Physical Therapy was born from a passion to provide a higher standard of care for patients who needed a natural and attainable way to relieve and prevent their pain.
Alex graduated from Widener University with both a Bachelors in Psychology and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He is one of the only Physical Therapists to have both of these degrees, and he prides himself in his ability to connect with his patients not only through movement, but by helping them overcome their pains with relaxation and stress reduction techniques. He believes that many of these techniques for patients to fix their problems should be offered at a free rate, therefore, he’s written several books to provide relief to anyone who may benefit, even those who are under or uninsured.
Alex is a Black Belt in Ryukyu Kempo and, due to his maturity and dedication to the sport, was the second youngest to achieve this goal that year. He enjoys implementing the relaxation, meditation, breathing, and stretching techniques he learned in martial arts within his Physical Therapy programs. He believes these techniques help to provide a more holistic and mindful approach to Physical Therapy and movement. Along with martial arts, he also enjoys running and weight lifting. You’ll often find him in the gym, on a running trail, or even in the gym lifting weights between patients!

Kim is a graduate of Harcum College and is a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. With several sports injuries she’s endured through horseback riding, softball, and crew, she has had plenty of experience on the patient-side of things. With being a patient as well as having helped coach other athletes in these sports, her experiences drove her to select a career in physical therapy in order to give the same quality of care.
While in school, she worked at a clinic as an exercise specialist but, unfortunately, was laid off due to the Covid-19 pandemic. With her drive to help people, she continued blogging to increase the access people had to understanding their aches and pains. Through losing her job, she saw the experience as a window of opportunity to continue to help people through her writings as well as the helping to build TORQ Physical Therapy with Doctor Alex. Kim has also gone above and beyond many of her cohorts by taking over 100 hours of advanced courses, including kinesiotape, cupping, movement assessment, and much more!
Outside of work, Kim enjoys going to the beach, working out, and taking her Border Collie, Lilly, on adventures!
